European Championship 1984

The 1984 UEFA European Football Championship was hosted by France. The French captain Michel Platini was in truly inspirational form as he almost single handedly helped the hosts win their first ever international trophy, scoring no less than nine goals in five matches, including one in the final against Spain. Neither England nor any of the other home nations had made it trough the qualifying stage.
