Garrincha Forward - With his bent legs, Garrincha cut a curious figure on the football field. It didn't prevent him from driving opponents to desperation. Widely considered one of the greatest dribblers of the ball ever, Garrincha won the World Cup with Brazil twice. Alcohol abuse meant he led a troubled life off the pitch.

Francisco Gento (Player 1952-1971)
Francisco Gento Forward - Francisco Gento López was the pacey left-forward of the legendary Real Madrid that won all first five editions of the European Cup. In 1966, when Madrid won it's sixth European Cup, 'El Supersonico' was also present, making Gento the only player that has lifted the prestigious trophy six times.

Eric Gerets (Player 1972-1992)
Eric Gerets Defender - Eric Gerets' spirited performances for Belgium in the early eighties earned the bearded full back a transfer to AC Milan, but a lengthy ban due to his role in a Belgian bribery scandal cut short his time with Milan. In 1988, playing for PSV, Gerets became the first Belgian to lift the European Cup.

Gerson (Player 1958-1974)
Gerson Midfielder - Gérson de Oliveira Nunes was the midfield genius of the famous Brazilian national team that won the 1970 World Cup playing a spectacular type of attacking football. The chain smoking Gerson, who once even starred in a Brazilian cigarette advert, was renowned for his insightful and accurate passing.

Ruud Gullit (Player 1979-1998)
Ruud Gullit Forward - Ruud Gullit captained the Dutch national team to victory at the 1988 European Championship and helped AC Milan win the European Cup in 1989 and 1990. Famous for his rasta curls, he combined speed and strength with good technique. Gullit was voted European Footballer of the Year in 1987.
