Ralf Edström Forward - Swedish footballer of the year in 1972 and 1974, Ralf Edström collected silverware with clubs from all over Europe. What he lacked in pace, he made up for by strength in the air, excellent timing, and a remarkably good technique for a man his length. Edström scored four goals during the 1974 World Cup.

Duncan Edwards (Player 1953-1958)
Duncan Edwards Midfielder - Duncan Edwards was one of the Busby Babes, the young Manchester United team assembled by Matt Busby in the 1950's, and one of the players who perished in the '58 Munich air disaster. He was widely regognised as a prodigious talent and had made his England debut at the age of 18 years old.

Stefan Effenberg Midfielder - Famously once giving the finger to a whistling crowd at the 1994 World Cup, Stefan Effenberg was by far the most controversial German player of his generation, but also one of the best. Known for his vision and leadership, Effenberg led Bayern Munich to victory in the Champions League in 2001.

Preben Elkjaer-Larsen (Player 1976-1990)
Preben Elkjaer-Larsen Forward - Preben Elkjaer-Larsen was the centre-forward of the mid-1980's Danish national team famed for their attacking style of play. The notorious chain-smoker wasn't the most technically gifted of players, but made up for it with boundless industry and aggression. In 1985 he helped Hellas Verona win the Serie A.

Franky van der Elst (Player 1979-1999)
Franky van der Elst Midfielder - Franky van der Elst started his career at RWDM, but it was at Club Brugge that the hard-working defensive midfielder grew into a true club icon. Twice voted Belgian footballer of the year, Van der Elst competed in the World Cup with the Belgian national team in 1986, 1990, 1994, and 1998.

Eusebio Forward - Eusébio da Silva Ferreira was a Mozambican born Portugese striker who's goals helped Benfica win the European Cup in 1962, scoring 2 goals in the final against Real Madrid, and Portugal reach third place in the 1966 World Cup, scoring 9 goals. In 1965 he was voted European Footballer of the Year.
