Jorge Valdano (Player 1973-1987)
Jorge Valdano Forward - Jorge Valdano was a strong and intelligent striker who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986, scoring four goals (including one in the final). With Real Madrid he won two UEFA-Cups and three Spanish championships. Valdano later returned to Real Madrid as manager and sporting director.

Vavá (Player 1949-1969)
Vava Forward - In a legendary 5-man Brazilian attacking line-up also featuring Garrincha, Didi, Pelé and Zagallo, Edvaldo Izidio Neto played as centre forward. Vavá won only 22 caps for Brazil, but nearly half of them came during World Cups. His 9 goals in 10 matches were crucial in earning Brazil the 1958 and 1962 titles.

Gianluca Vialli (Player 1980-1999)
Gianluca Vialli Forward - Luca Vialli rose to international fame as a member of the team that brought Sampdoria the most successful era in the club's history. The biggest success of the tall striker's career came when he won the Champions League with Juventus in 1996. Vialli ended his career as a player-manager at Chelsea.

Berti Vogts (Player 1965-1979)
Berti Vogts Defender - Borussia Mönchengladbach's Berti Vogts deserved a large part of the credit for West-Germany winning the final of the 1974 World Cup. Persistent man-marking by Der Terrier prevented Johan Cruyff from making his mark on the game. As a manager Vogts guided Germany to victory at Euro '96.

Rudi Völler (Player 1977-1996)
Rudi Völler Forward - Rudi Völler was a regular in the West German national team during the mid to late eigthies. The industrious centre forward crowned his international career with victory at the 1990 World Cup. In 1993 Völler won the Champions League with Olympique Marseille. He proved less successful as a coach.
